Today,Miss Chia taught us about the four guidlines to make dialogues interesting.
Guideline#1:Vary your verbs. There are hundreds and hundreds of verbs that indicate speaking besides"said".Try to find one that accurately reflects how the person says it.
Guideline#2:Use descriptives.Try to use adverbs or desciptive phrases to enchance the verbs themselves. Example:He spoke in a soft whisper.
Guideline#3:Vary your structure.Don't always identify the speaker in the same place, you can do it at the beginning,in the middle,or at the end.If the quotation is long, don't identify it at the end,do it at the beginning,or at the first punctuation stop.
Guideline#4:Use narrative to show the reader what's being said, that's like watching a movie with your eyes closed.Show us what's happening as well.
That's what I learned today! *Logging out*
