1.Know your limitations and style.
2.Choose a simple plot with a sub-theme and some characterisation.(32m or 35m if written well)
3.Never try a new plot/theme that you never thought of before+has limited vocaburlary+background knowledge.
4.Prepare standard " Fighting" scene words," emo" scene words," Police arrival" scene words.
5.Be consistant with your style.(Perfect it until you see affirmation.)

Today,Miss Chia taught us about the four guidlines to make dialogues interesting.
Guideline#1:Vary your verbs. There are hundreds and hundreds of verbs that indicate speaking besides"said".Try to find one that accurately reflects how the person says it.
Guideline#2:Use descriptives.Try to use adverbs or desciptive phrases to enchance the verbs themselves. Example:He spoke in a soft whisper.
Guideline#3:Vary your structure.Don't always identify the speaker in the same place, you can do it at the beginning,in the middle,or at the end.If the quotation is long, don't identify it at the end,do it at the beginning,or at the first punctuation stop.
Guideline#4:Use narrative to show the reader what's being said, that's like watching a movie with your eyes closed.Show us what's happening as well.

Today,Miss Chia taught us about Dialogues that can be use in story writing.
Dialogue can be a:
-statement
-question
-exclaimation
A speech+a speaker tag=a complete sentence.
Dialogue structure
-<speaker tag>
example:"I am happy,"John said.
-<speaker tag>
example:John said,"I am happy."
Punctuations of 1 statement dialogues structure
Statement:I am tired.
Example:Steve said,"I am tired."
Structure:,"
Punctuations of 2 statement dialogues structure
Statement:I am tired.I need to rest.
-"I am tired,"Steve said."I need to rest."
-"I am tired.I need a rest,"Steve said.
-Steve said,"i am tired.I need to rest."
-"I am very tired,"said Steve,"and I want to rest."
Punctuation of thoughts...
If you want to show a character think words to himself,
without actually speaking them aloud, follow the same
punctuation and capitalization rules but eliminte the quotation marks:
-This is going to be long day,he thought.
-Where did they go?she wondered.
Action and Dialogue
Example:
1)Action:John looked upset.
Speech:My dog died.
Speaker tag:John sobbed
Sentence:
-John looked upset."My dog died,"John sobbed.
-John looked upset."My dog died,"he sobbed.
2)Action:Tom took a stick.
Speech:You better watch out!
Speaker tag:Tom threatened.
Sentence:
-Tom took out a stick."You better watch out!"Tom threatened.

Thoughts of the day
Today,Miss Chia has taught us about Narrative Writing. Narrative Writing is an imaginary story although it is based on facts. The purpose is to entertain the reader. To write a Narrative Writing,We must visualise the scene and feel for the character, there must be a "bait"to keep the reader in suspense. There must always be a solution for every problem that the character face and we must use more vocaburlary to make the story exciting. We must also have more dialogue to let the reader have more imagination and to know more about the character in the story. You must write a story begining with a place, time,or about the main character, and end the story witn a resolution. That is what I learned today,I hope that I could apply it on my story writing.*Logging off*

Thoughts of the day
Today we have our workout, this time it was different from last year.In social studies, the teacher showed us a video about World War 2.The part when they show citizens got beheaded was the most frightening part(I heard these from my friends as I close my eyes because I could not take the ''uneasy feeling'' I felt when I look at it a little...).I am very excited about the form teacher's time tomorrow!I hope everyone is too!!!*Signing out*
